Our Vision is to be the global provider of therapies for psychiatric illnesses.
Our Mission is to develop our portfolio of chemical compounds to leads for various psychiatric illnesses.
Chakra Biotech is focused on the development of drugs for CNS
disorders, currently a rapidly growing USD50 billion market opportunity. Chakra Biotech was established in 2001 to unlock the value of it's key intellectual property assets:
- A world-wide exclusive license to a US-patented mouse
model (the chakragati mouse) for dopamine dysfunction, validated as a model for
screening antipsychotic compounds
- A world-wide exclusive license to a library of novel compounds covered by six composition of matter patents
We have established a neurobehavioural screening facility Chakra Biotech Sdn Bhd in Malaysia to facilitate discovery of novel compounds targeted towards various aspects of psychiatric illnesses.
Management
Dr. Anil K. Ratty, Founder and Executive Director, Chakra Biotech (Singapore), Director and Chief Scientific Architect, Chakra Biotech (Malaysia)
Anil Ratty founded Chakra Biotech in 2001 and has been pivotal to the development of Chakra's assets. Previously, Anil served in various corporate and research positions: Regional Director with Fischer Scientific; life science researcher at Buffalo General Hospital (USA); Roswell Park Cancer Institute (USA); the Institute of Cellular and Molecular Biology (Singapore) and the Defense Medical Research Institute (Singapore). Anil holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the National University of Singapore.
We are in the process of establishing our executive management for operations, pharmaceutical sciences, toxicology, regulatory, discovery and development.
